Psalms of David - Modern Translation - Psalm 65

Praise awaits You, O God in Zion,
to You our promises are fulfilled.

You who hear our prayers,
to You all people will come.

When our hearts are burdened with failings,
You forgive us with abundant mercy.

Blessed are those You draw near,
who dwell in Your presence,
who are satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
filled with the holiness of Your temple.

With awe-inspiring deeds of justice and love,
You answer us, O God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas.

You set the mountains in place by Your strength,
clothed in power and majesty.

You still the roaring seas,
the crashing waves,
and the turmoil of the nations.

All who dwell at the edges of the earth stand in wonder,
from morning’s first light to evening’s last glow,
You fill the world with joy.

You visit the earth and water it,
You enrich it abundantly.

The streams of God are full of life,
providing grain for all, as You have ordained.

You drench the furrows and level the ridges,
softening the ground with showers,
blessing the work of human hands.

You crown the year with Your goodness,
and Your paths overflow with abundance.

The pastures are clothed with flocks,
the valleys covered in grain;
they shout for joy and sing together.
