God is known among His people;
His name is great in all the earth.

His dwelling is among those who seek Him,
and His presence is a light upon the land.

There He shattered the weapons of war,
the shield, the sword, and every stronghold.

You shine in glorious majesty,
more radiant than the mightiest of rulers.

The proud were laid low, overcome with awe;
none could stand against Your power.

At Your voice, O God of truth,
both horse and warrior were stilled.

You alone are to be revered;
who can stand before You when Your justice is revealed?

From heaven, You pronounced what is right,
and the earth trembled in silence before You.

You arise to bring peace and restoration,
to lift up the humble in Your mercy.

Even the wrath of humankind brings You praise,
for You turn all things toward Your purpose.

Let those who trust in You bring offerings of gratitude,
fulfilling their vows with joyful hearts.

For You break the power of the oppressor,
and those who walk in reverence 
before You dwell in safety.
