Psalms of David - Modern Translation - Psalm 1

Blessed is the one who walks in the wisdom of God,
who does not follow the path of harm,
nor stand with those who do wrong,
nor sit among those who mock what is good.

Instead, they find joy in the guidance of God,
reflecting on His truth day and night.

They are like a tree planted by flowing waters,
bearing fruit in its time,
its leaves never withering—
whatever they do prospers under God’s care.

But those who turn away from His love
are like chaff blown by the wind,
without roots to hold them steady.

For God watches over the path of the faithful,
guiding them in His light,
but the way of those who reject Him
fades into nothingness.
