O Lord, I call to You—come quickly to me;
hear my voice when I cry out to You.
Let my prayer rise before You like incense,
the lifting of my hands like the evening sacrifice.
Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.
Let not my heart be drawn to what is wrong,
to join in evil with those who do harm;
let me not taste of their pleasures.
Let the righteous correct me with kindness—
that is a gift of love.
Let not my head refuse their wisdom,
for my prayers are ever before You.
When the wicked fall into their own traps,
then I will lift my eyes to You in gratitude.
As the ground is plowed and turned,
so are the plans of the wicked scattered.
But my eyes are fixed on You, O Lord,
in You I take refuge—do not leave me defenseless.
Keep me safe from the traps they set for me,
from the snares of those who do wrong.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
while I pass through unharmed.
