Psalms of David - Modern Translation - Psalm 135

Praise the Lord! Praise His name!

Give praise, O servants of the Lord,
You who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of our God.

Praise the Lord, for He is good;
sing to His name, for it is delightful.

For the Lord has chosen followers of Israel as His own,
His treasured people.

I know the greatness of the Lord,
that our God is above all others.

Whatever He pleases, He does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and in all the depths.

He brings the clouds from the ends of the earth,
sends lightning with the rain,
and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.

He humbled the firstborn of Egypt,
both human and beast.

He sent signs and wonders among them,
against Pharaoh and all his servants.

He humbled many great nations,
and brought down mighty kings—
Sihon, king of the Amorites,
Og, king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan.

He gave their land as an inheritance,
a heritage to His people.

Your name, O Lord, endures forever,
your renown throughout all time.

For the Lord defends His people,
and has compassion on those who serve Him.

he idols of the nations are silver and gold,
crafted by human hands.

They have mouths but cannot speak,
eyes but cannot see,
They have ears but cannot hear,
nor is there breath in their mouths.

Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.

O family of Israel, praise the Lord!
O family of Aaron, praise the Lord!
O family of Levi, praise the Lord!

You who revere the Lord, praise Him!
Praised be the Lord from Zion,
who dwells in Jerusalem.

Praise the Lord!
