he brought forth a son like himself

and brought forth other sons and daughters.
5:5 The days of the man totaled 930 years.
Then he passed away.
5:6 When Seth was 105 years old
he brought forth Enosh.
5:7 After bringing forth Enosh

Then he passed away.
5:28 When Lamech was 182 years old
he brought forth a son.
5:29 He named him Noah and declared:
He will comfort us
in the labor and painful toil

the LORD has cursed.
